A non-voice Customer Service Representative (CSR) handles customer inquiries and resolves issues entirely through text-based channels rather than spoken phone calls. These roles emphasize strong written communication, multitasking, and problem-solving.
Core Responsibilities
- Chat & Email Support: Respond to customer inquiries, process orders, and troubleshoot issues via live chat, email, and social media messaging.
- Ticket Management: Update, track, and close support tickets while adhering to company guidelines.
- Documentation: Log detailed, accurate notes of every customer interaction in the database.
- Quality & Efficiency: Meet daily key performance indicators (KPIs) such as response time, resolution rate, and customer satisfaction (CSAT) scores.
- Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to promote products or services when relevant.
Key Qualifications
- Communication Skills: Excellent written English grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension.
- Typing Speed & Multitasking: High WPM (Words Per Minute) and the ability to manage multiple chats or emails simultaneously.
- Tech-Savviness: Basic computer navigation, internet proficiency, and familiarity with CRM software.
- Education: Typically requires at least a High School or Senior High School diploma.
