English First Language Teacher

Position Title: English Teacher (First Language – Upper Secondary)

Location: Spark Bali 

Employment Type: Onsite, Full-time

Role Summary:

Spark Bali is seeking a highly competent English Teacher to deliver English First Language at the upper secondary level. This role requires strong subject mastery, particularly in literary analysis, academic writing, and critical thinking, aligned with international curriculum standards. We are prioritizing candidates with a strong academic background in English Literature, combined with proven experience teaching upper secondary students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality lessons in English First Language for upper secondary students.
• Teach key components including literary analysis, comprehension, and academic writing.
• Prepare students for international examinations (IGCSE, AS, and A Level) with structured and rigorous instruction.
• Design lesson plans and assessments aligned with international curriculum standards.
• Provide detailed feedback to support students’ academic progress.
• Conduct revision sessions and targeted academic support when needed.
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages discussion, interpretation, and critical thinking.
• Participate in school programs, meetings, and parent-teacher conferences.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English Literature (required).
• Candidates with a degree in English Education may be considered only if they have at least 2 years of experience teaching English First Language at upper secondary level within an international curriculum.
• Proven experience teaching IGCSE and/or AS/A Level English First Language.
• Strong mastery of literary texts, analysis, and academic writing instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to teach students from diverse and multicultural backgrounds.
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Bali (if currently based outside Bali).
• Availability to start in the new Academic Year.
