Procurement Manager (Mining)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and operational requirements.

• Lead sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations to secure the best value for the company.

• Manage procurement of mining operational needs, including equipment, spare parts, fuel, services, and contractors.

• Handle procurement and commercial negotiations related to marine logistics, including barge and tugboat services.

• Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and service reliability.

• Review, negotiate, and administer procurement contracts in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and procurement efficiency.

• Monitor procurement spending and support budget control initiatives.

• Assess and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supplier and contract risks.

• Collaborate closely with Operations, Logistics, Finance, and other stakeholders to support business requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Commercial functions within the mining industry.

• Proven experience handling procurement for mining operations.

• Strong understanding of marine logistics and transportation, including barge (tongkang) and tugboat operations.

• Experience negotiating contracts with shipping companies, barge operators, logistics providers, or related vendors is highly preferred.

• Strong commercial negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Familiar with procurement governance, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Willing to travel for business purposes when required.
