Financial Controller Construction and Hospitality

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller for Construction and Hospitality to join City 8 Unipessoal lda. This is a full-time position based in Dili, Timor Leste, reporting directly to Director. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations across our construction and hospitality divisions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and robust financial controls. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth trajectory and providing financial insight that drives informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee the preparation and management of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

2. Manage and supervise accounting staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions across both construction and hospitality operations

3. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency

4. Monitor cash flow and working capital management, providing recommendations to optimise liquidity across multiple business units

5. Prepare detailed financial analysis and variance reports, identifying trends and highlighting areas for cost reduction and revenue optimisation

6. Support project accounting for construction contracts, including budget tracking, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis

7. Manage the consolidation of financial data across construction and hospitality divisions, ensuring consistency and accuracy

8. Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and departmental heads to support business planning and decision-making

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, or equivalent are highly desirable

2. Minimum 8 years of experience in a financial controller or senior accounting role, with proven experience in construction and/or hospitality sectors

3. Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

4. Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; experience with construction-specific accounting software is advantageous

5. Solid understanding of tax compliance, audit procedures, and regulatory requirements in Indonesia
