We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Marine Insurance & Claim Staff to support the management of marine insurance and claims activities, ensuring accurate documentation, timely claim handling, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Administration & Handling:
Assist in managing the lifecycle of Marine Hull, Cargo, and P&I claims, from initial notification and documentation to claim follow-up and settlement, in accordance with policy terms and P&I Club requirements.P&I Coordination:
Coordinate with P&I Clubs, correspondents, and insurance representatives regarding claim documentation, updates, and required follow-up actions related to third-party liabilities, crew injury, pollution, property damage, and other marine incidents.Claim Assessment Support:
Assist in reviewing claim documents, incident reports, survey reports, and supporting evidence to identify the cause of loss and assess coverage for H&M and P&I claims.Stakeholder Coordination:
Coordinate with surveyors, loss adjusters, maritime lawyers, port authorities, vessel agents, and other relevant parties to support the investigation and resolution of marine insurance claims.Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and complete records of insurance policies, claim files, correspondence, supporting documents, and settlement information. Prepare periodic claim reports and updates for management.Cost & Claim Monitoring:
Monitor claim-related expenses, settlement progress, and outstanding claims to ensure timely processing and proper documentation. Assist in tracking claim performance and related costs.Subrogation & Recovery Support:
Assist in identifying potential subrogation and recovery opportunities and coordinate the collection of relevant documents and information required for recovery processes.Compliance Support:
Ensure insurance and claim documentation is maintained in accordance with applicable marine insurance requirements, P&I Club rules, international maritime regulations, and internal company procedures.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Maritime Studies, Law, Maritime Law, or related field.Experience:
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Marine Insurance, Claims, Shipping, Marine Operations, or a related field. Experience handling Marine Hull, Cargo, or P&I claims is preferred.Professional Certification:
Professional insurance certifications such as AAAIK, AAUIK, or relevant P&I/Marine Insurance training will be an advantage.Technical Knowledge:
Basic to good understanding of Marine Hull & Machinery, Marine Cargo, P&I insurance, Institute Cargo Clauses, Hull Clauses, and marine claim procedures. Familiarity with Letter of Undertaking (LOU) and other security arrangements is an advantage.Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with applicable international maritime conventions, marine liability principles, and shipowner’s third-party liabilities.Communication Skills:
Good written and verbal English communication skills, particularly for correspondence and coordination with international insurance and maritime stakeholders.Analytical & Organizational Skills:
Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, problem-solving ability, and the ability to manage multiple claims and follow-ups within deadlines.Operational Agility:
Able to work effectively under pressure and respond promptly to urgent marine incidents, including vessel damage, cargo claims, pollution incidents, and other maritime emergencies.
