About the Company
Azari Group is a property development company specialising in distinctive villa developments in Bali. Our portfolio is growing quickly and we are building the team to match. We take quality seriously, in our projects and in how we work.
Role Overview
The Finance Manager is the financial hub of the company. You take full ownership of the day-to-day finance function across our multiple Indonesian entities (bookkeeping, payment processing, invoicing, expense tracking, tax and compliance), while also driving the higher-level financial work that guides decision-making: modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and project-level performance tracking.
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable processing a supplier payment and building an off-plan development model. You work closely with the development team to deliver financial clarity, accurate reporting, and sound input into pricing, feasibility, and investment decisions. The position is remote-friendly but hybrid, and you must be able to drop into the office when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping, Payments & Day-to-Day Finance
• Own end-to-end bookkeeping across our multiple Indonesian entities
• Process payments end to end: supplier, contractor, and operational payment runs
• Process and file invoices accurately and on time
• Track expenses at both company and project level
• Prepare and submit the accounts for each entity
• Maintain clean ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting records in our accounting system
Note: depending on the candidate, Azari may provide a dedicated bookkeeper to process monthly compliance and Xero accounts, allowing this role to focus on oversight and higher-level financial work rather than transactional entry.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
• Manage routine tax handling and statutory compliance across all entities
• Keep filings accurate, complete, and on schedule
• Identify tax risks early and propose compliant, practical solutions
• Liaise with external tax and accounting advisors where required
Financial Reporting & Control
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports across all entities
• Ensure accurate, consistent reporting of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow
• Maintain clear supporting schedules and documentation
• Support audit processes and external advisors where required
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cashflow
• Prepare and maintain project budgets and company-level forecasts
• Build and update cashflow forecasts linked to construction schedules and sales timelines
• Track variances against budget and explain movements clearly
• Support decision-making with forward-looking financial insight
Financial Modelling
• Build and maintain detailed financial models for development projects, including off-plan developments
• Build bridging models between projects
• Prepare ROI, profit, and sensitivity analyses
• Model different sales, pricing, cost, and timing scenarios
• Support land acquisition, feasibility, and investment decisions
Project & Operational Financial Oversight
• Monitor construction costs, variations, and payment schedules
• Track project-level performance against approved financial models
• Support reporting related to permits, insurance, and regulatory approvals
• Provide clear financial summaries aligned with project progress
Compliance, Governance & Documentation
• Maintain structured compliance records across entities and projects
• Keep documentation audit-ready and consistently organised
• Track contractual, regulatory, and statutory obligations
• Escalate potential compliance or governance issues early
Requirements
• Background specifically working with property developers in Bali
• Strong English, both spoken and written to a high standard
• Bali-based: this is a hybrid role with 1 to 2 in-person meetings per week (office opening soon)
• Hands-on experience with bookkeeping, payment processing, and invoicing across multiple entities
• Solid experience with tax and compliance in the real estate / construction sector
• Advanced financial modelling skills for development projects
• A deep understanding of cashflow-driven businesses
• Strong attention to detail and process discipline
How to Apply
