Service Supervisor (Project Site)

Job Description:

• Team Supervision & Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians and service staff, ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with project timelines and safety standards.

  • Provide guidance and support in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on mining equipment.

  • Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and ensure adherence to operational procedures.

• Maintenance Operations:

  • Oversee the routine maintenance and repair of all mining machinery, vehicles, and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all equipment is inspected regularly.

  • Respond promptly to unplanned breakdowns and manage emergency repairs to minimize operational downtime.

  • Coordinate with the parts department to ensure the availability of spare parts and tools for ongoing maintenance activities.

• Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety across the team.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of equipment and maintenance areas, addressing any risks or non-compliance issues immediately.

  • Monitor adherence to the company’s safety protocols and industry standards.

• Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Assist in the development of maintenance budgets, ensuring all activities are cost-effective and within financial constraints.

  • Manage the coordination of service schedules to minimize impact on project production and operational activities.

  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop strategies for minimizing equipment downtime and optimizing machinery life.

• Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, service reports, and parts inventories.

  • Prepare regular maintenance and service reports for senior management, identifying issues, recommendations, and action plans.

  • Document and update procedures as necessary to reflect the latest maintenance practices and safety protocols.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum Experience of 5+ years of hands-on experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment maintenance.

• At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a mining or industrial setting.

• Having a POP certificate is a must.
