Import Export Officer

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in management, logistics, customs administration, foreign trade or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in export-import, experience in specific industries such as laboratory equipment or manufacturing is a plus.

• Understanding and ability to manage various documents such as commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, Bill of Lading (BL) or Air Waybill (AWB), PIB, PEB, AKL permit, and other documents related to custom regulations and international trade compliance.

• Understanding of Incoterms, tariff classification, customs valuation and shipment tracking systems.

• Knowledge of different transport methods and logistics principles.

• Familiarity with customs and trade-specific software and systems e.g., INSW, OSS, SIINAS, CEISA BC, and other related systems.

• Good mathematical skills and accuracy, especially for cost calculations and documentation.

• Active English language skills, both written and spoken.

• Attention to detail, organization, analytical skills, high motivation, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of moving goods across borders, from planning to final delivery.

• Make sure all activities adhere to international trade laws and customs requirements.

• Prepare, process, and maintain all required permits, licenses, and shipping documents, including customs forms.

• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and internal teams to manage inbound and outbound shipments.

• Monitor and track the progress of shipments to ensure they arrive on time.

• Address and resolve any problems related to customs clearance, shipping delays, or other logistical challenges.

• Keep accurate records of all import and export transactions.
