A Japanese Translator/Interpreter facilitates clear communication by converting written texts and spoken conversations between Japanese and English or other languages. They translate documents, act as live interpreters in meetings, and serve as cultural liaisons for businesses or organizations operating in cross-cultural environments
Key Responsibilities
- Translation: Accurately translate emails, contracts, manuals, and reports from Japanese to English and vice versa.
- Interpretation: Provide simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and client tours.
- Cultural Mediation: Ensure the accurate conveyance of intent, tone, and cultural nuances.
- Liaison Support: Assist Japanese expatriates or executives with administrative, personal, or operational needs.
- Proofreading: Review and edit translated materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to company terminology
Job Requirements
- Native level fluency in Japanese, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese, including familiarity with Japanese culture and customs, and financial markets
- Strong translation skills (English to Japanese)
- Language proficiency certification required
- Experience of working as a translator/localization specialist for at least three years
- Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Analytical mindset and strong in logical reasoning
- Well versed with Internet searching and Microsoft Office
