Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Forestry, or Geography, Environmental Science, Geodetic Engineering, Geology, Urban/Regional Planning, or related fields
- Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, or other geospatial software is required
- At least 1 year of experience in GIS work, land use analysis, or environmental consulting (internship experience may be considered for junior roles)
- Familiarity with land use plans (CLUP/FLUP), land conversion processes, and environmental permitting is a strong advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Google Earth, AutoCAD, and Drone mapping is a plus
- Willingness to conduct field validation work across various sites in the Philippines
Job Description:
- Develop and update GIS-based maps, including project location, buffer zones, land cover/land use, slope, soil, hydrology, protected areas, and environmentally critical areas (ECA)
- Conduct land classification checks and research on existing land use, land zoning, and relevant ordinances or policies (e.g., CLUP, FLUP, SAFDZ)
- Perform geospatial analysis to inform scoping and technical assessments (e.g., impact zoning, sensitivity overlays)
- Support site validation visits to confirm geospatial data accuracy and capture geo-tagged photos and coordinates
- Coordinate with NAMRIA, LGUs, DENR, and other agencies to gather or validate geospatial and land classification data
- Assist in preparing modules and sections related to:
- Land Classification & Land Use
- Project Location & Accessibility
- Mapping Requirements of EIA/ESIA Reports
- Prepare visual materials (maps, overlays, figures) aligned with project branding and report standards
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement, especially with LGUs and communities affected by land use or access issues
