Operation Superintendent

About the role
We are a Holding Company with a new subsidiary within the Maritime Business. Reporting directly to the management team, The Operation Superintendent is responsible for managing vessel operations, voyage settlements, operational cost control, and voyage profitability analysis. The role also oversees voyage instructions, noon reports, vessel certificates, and Bill of Lading (B/L) documentation to ensure smooth and compliant operations. This full-time position is based in South Jakarta, Jakarta.

What you'll be doing

• Calculate and settle demurrage and dispatch based on laytime calculations.

• Calculate and review port charges and other port-related expenses.

• Calculate voyage operating costs, including bunker fuel, fresh water, port charges, crew bonuses, maintenance reserves, documentation expenses, and other related costs, and analyze voyage profit and loss.

• Manage vessel operations, including issuance and follow-up of voyage instructions and monitoring of noon reports.

• Manage and monitor vessel certificates to ensure validity and compliance.

• Manage Bill of Lading (B/L) documentation and related operational records.

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is a must.

• Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Transportation, Logistics, Business, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in vessel operations, shipping operations, or a related maritime function.

• Strong experience in voyage settlement, port cost calculation, operating cost control, and voyage profit-and-loss analysis.

• Good understanding of vessel operation management, including voyage instructions and noon report monitoring.

• Familiarity with vessel certificates, Bill of Lading (B/L), and other shipping documentation.

• Strong analytical, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.
