Logistics Officer

Job Summary

The Logistics Officer oversees the daily movement, storage, and distribution of company goods and inventory. This role coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, manages vendor relationships (couriers, freight forwarders, and transport providers), ensures inventory accuracy, and optimizes logistics workflows to deliver orders safely, cost-effectively, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Shipment & Transportation Coordination:
• Schedule, dispatch, and track daily domestic and international shipments via third-party logistics (3PL) providers, couriers, or internal transport teams.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, packing lists, commercial invoices, and customs clearing forms.
• Inventory & Warehouse Oversight:
• Monitor stock movements between warehouses, retail stores, and fulfillment hubs to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Oversee receiving, sorting, quality checking, and dispatching operations to ensure accuracy and minimize item damage.
• Vendor & Freight Management:
• Coordinate with shipping partners and freight forwarders to secure competitive freight rates and optimal transit routes.
• Resolve delivery delays, lost cargo claims, or damaged goods issues with carriers directly.
• Compliance & Logistics Cost Tracking:
• Ensure full compliance with import/export regulations, transport laws, safety protocols, and customs clearance procedures.
• Audit transport invoices and freight charges against agreed service contracts to control operational costs.
• System Logging & Reporting:
• Update inventory management software, ERP systems, and logistics tracking dashboards in real time.
• Generate weekly and monthly reports on delivery performance, transport costs, and warehouse efficiency.
