About the role
This is a product development and research role focused on designing and developing new food products. You will be responsible for creating recipes, formulations, and samples that meet market trends and marketing requirements, while ensuring cost-effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
Design recipes, formulations, flavours, textures, and appearance of new products according to market trends and Marketing team direction
Create samples and refine them until ready for mass production (NPI)
Calculate and control production costs and raw material prices to remain cost-effective and within budget
Ensure products meet safety standards and comply with applicable regulations and laws before registration
Coordinate with factories to ensure mass production processes run smoothly without technical issues
Communicate with suppliers to source and select appropriate and quality raw materials
Prepare and manage technical documents, such as formulations, product specifications, and sample test records
Collaborate with Marketing, Procurement, and Factory teams to resolve technical product development challenges quickly
About you
Fluent in Mandarin
Minimum S1 degree in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, or Chemistry
2–5 years of experience in R&D / Food Product Development
Experience in bakery, biscuit, snack, puffed food, or pastry categories (preferred)
Background working in food factories, OEM/ODM companies, or raw material suppliers (preferred)
Understanding of market, supply chain, and local Indonesian food raw materials (preferred)
