Lead Database & Integration Engineer

Our client is a Bali-based property development and representation company managing multiple high-value developments and a growing technology-driven operational environment.

We are looking for a Lead Database & Integration Engineer to own the development, operation, security, and continuous improvement of the company’s core data platform and system integrations.

This is a hands-on engineering role with long-term ownership. You will not only build the system, but also ensure it remains reliable, secure, well-documented, and operational in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the company's centralized PostgreSQL/Supabase data platform.

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, webhooks, and system integrations.

• Develop and manage integrations with HubSpot, Asana, and Xero.

• Build reliable data synchronization with retry, idempotency, reconciliation, and error-handling mechanisms.

• Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS), authentication, authorization, and access controls.

• Manage secure document storage and access for internal, client, and buyer-facing portals.

• Build APIs and controlled data-access layers for AI-enabled applications.

• Implement monitoring, logging, backup, recovery, and incident-response processes.

• Manage database migrations and Development ? Staging ? Production environments.

• Maintain audit trails for authentication, permissions, financial records, and data changes.

• Establish and maintain technical documentation, architecture documentation, data dictionaries, and operational runbooks.

• Continuously identify and improve system reliability, security, and performance.

Requirements

• 4+ years of strong PostgreSQL experience, including complex queries, migrations, indexes, functions, triggers, and RLS.

• Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.

• Experience with Supabase and/or similar cloud database platforms.

• Experience with serverless architectures such as Vercel Functions or Supabase Edge Functions.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, rate limiting, retry mechanisms, and asynchronous systems.

• Hands-on experience with HubSpot API, particularly Deals, Contacts, Invoices, Line Items, or custom objects.

• Strong understanding of database security, JWT, RBAC, credentials, and environment separation.

• Experience operating live production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, backup, and recovery.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Comfortable taking ownership of systems beyond the initial development stage.

Preferred

• Experience with AI integrations, MCP, LLM tool-calling, or AI data-access layers.

• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, Indonesia's UU PDP, or other data protection frameworks.

• Experience in property technology, real estate, fintech, SaaS, or other transaction-heavy environments.

• Experience working with multiple entities, projects, or independent data environments.
