Field Joint Coatings (FJC) Supervisor

Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise, coordinate, and assign work to field technicians and support crew.

• Provide technical direction, oversight, and performance feedback.

• Ensure crew compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and client requirements.

• Participate in performance evaluations and development of field personnel.

• Generate timesheet records and daily activity reports (Production/Quality as applicable).
  

Operational & Project Execution:

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily FJC operations at project sites.

• Ensure equipment, materials, and manpower are properly mobilized and ready for operations.

• Serve as the on-site person responsible for all FJC processes, including:
  - Equipment setup and function test
  - Application, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  - On-pipe and off-pipe coating equipment

• Ensure all field joint coating applications meet:
  - Client specifications
  - Company procedures
  - Material technical data sheets
  - MSDS requirements

• Monitor production performance, quality metrics, and project timelines.

• Identify and resolve operational issues to avoid delays and non-conformances.

• Coordinate with project management and other site supervisors to ensure workflow alignment.
  

Equipment & Asset Responsibility:

• Ensure all FJC equipment and application systems are maintained in safe and proper working condition.

• Oversee preventive maintenance and inspections.

• Coordinate repairs and troubleshoot equipment failures.

• Maintain accountability for tools, materials, and project assets.

• Recommend equipment upgrades or process improvements.

 Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and documentation requirements.

• Review and approve quality reports and daily production reports.

• Enforce company safety standards, PPE requirements, and site regulations.

• Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings.

• Immediately address and report any safety incidents or quality deviations.

• Maintain updated work procedures and ensure crew adherence.

  Client & Stakeholder Interface

• Act as the primary field-level liaison with client representatives for FJC activities.

• Address client concerns in a professional and solution-oriented manner.

• Ensure project deliverables meet contractual and technical requirements.

• Provide progress updates to management as required.

Technical Scope of Work

FJC activities may include supervision of the application and manipulation one or more of following applications:

• High Density Polyurethane Foam (HDPF), Polyurethane Foam (PUF) and Solid Polyurethane (SPU).

• Cold applied sleeves/tapes including elastomer/viscoelastic tapes

• Heat Shrink Sleeves (HSS), PP, PE, Hybrid.

• Liquid coating (Epoxies / Polyurethanes).

• Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder (FBE).

• Polypropylene Flame Spray (PPFS).

• Polyethylene Flame Spray (PEFS).

• Rapid 3LPP / WeHoCoat (3LPP FJC).

• Polyfuse/Widesheet coating.

• Rapid 3LPE / WeHoCoat (3LPE FJC).

• Rosehill (3-component high temperature infill).

• Ultra (IMTU).
