Draftsperson / CAD Technician (AO-13975)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare residential plans, layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD
  
• Convert sketches, mark-ups, and design notes into clear and accurate CAD documentation
  
• Update and revise drawings based on client, designer, or project feedback
  
• Assist with concept design development and preliminary sketch work for new residential projects
  
• Maintain organised drawing files, documentation, and version control records
  
• Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, consistency, and completeness before issue
  
• Coordinate drawing updates and ensure drafting standards are maintained across projects
  
• Support the project team with drafting-related tasks and documentation requirements
  

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in residential drafting, CAD documentation, or a similar role
  
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with experience producing residential construction drawings
  
• Solid understanding of residential drafting standards, construction documentation, and building layouts
  
• Ability to interpret sketches, mark-ups, architectural notes, and design concepts accurately
  
• High level of attention to detail with strong accuracy in dimensions and drawing consistency
  
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple revisions and deadlines
  
• Experience in maintaining drawing registers, version control, and project documentation
  
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers, builders, and project stakeholders
  
• Experience with SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D modelling software is advantageous
  
• Familiarity with Australian residential construction standards and council requirements is preferred
  
• Diploma or certification in Drafting, Architecture, Building Design, or a related field is preferred
