Mentor Public Speaking/Debate/Speech

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Mentor Public Speaking/Debate/Speech to join our team in Denpasar Selatan, Bali. As a Public Speaking and Debate Mentor, you will be instrumental in helping our students overcome communication barriers, build self-esteem and develop valuable skills.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver tailored public speaking, debate and speech coaching sessions adapted to the needs and abilities of participants with disabilities and elderly individuals

• Create inclusive, supportive learning environments that encourage participants to build confidence in verbal communication

• Design structured curriculum and lesson plans that progress participants through various speech and debate techniques

• Provide constructive feedback and personalised guidance to help participants improve clarity, articulation, presentation skills and argumentation

• Organise and facilitate debate competitions, speech events and public speaking forums that allow participants to practise and showcase their skills

• Work collaboratively with other team members and support staff to ensure participant progress and wellbeing

• Assess participant progress regularly and adjust teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and goals

• Foster a culture of encouragement and inclusivity, celebrating participant achievements and building their self-confidence

• Maintain detailed records of participant development and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a public speaking coach, debate instructor, or similar mentoring role, ideally with 3+ years of experience

• Strong expertise in debate techniques, public speaking principles, speech delivery and presentation skills

• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities and/or elderly participants

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, accessible terms

• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for helping others develop confidence and communication abilities

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and deliver structured coaching sessions

• Ability to adapt teaching methods and content to suit different learning styles and abilities

• Certification or formal training in public speaking, debate coaching, or relevant communication disciplines is preferred

• Fluency in Indonesian and English is highly desirable

• Understanding of inclusive education principles and experience supporting individuals with diverse needs
