Steel Manager/Structural & Steel Supervisor (Based at Batam shipyard)

• Oversee daily steel fabrication, sub-assembly, block erection, and structural installation activities to ensure project milestones are achieved.

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor steel production schedules in line with project requirements.

• Supervise foremen, fitters, welders, and subcontractors, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.

• Ensure all steel works comply with approved drawings, class society requirements, client specifications, and QA/QC standards.

• Coordinate with QA/QC teams on fit-up inspections, weld inspections, and dimensional checks.

• Optimize manpower, materials, and equipment utilization to improve operational efficiency.

• Enforce HSE policies, conduct toolbox meetings, and promote a safe working environment.

• Prepare daily progress reports, monitor workforce attendance, and manage overtime requirements.

• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure equipment is well maintained within assigned work areas.

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in shipyard steel fabrication, structural erection, or block construction.

• Hands-on experience supervising steel fabrication teams within shipbuilding or offshore projects.

• Good understanding of class society standards, QA/QC requirements, and shipyard HSE practices.

• Welding inspection certification (e.g. CSWIP) will be an advantage.

• Strong leadership, planning, and coordination skills with the ability to manage site operations effectively.
