We are looking for an Inventory Control Manager
The Inventory Control Manager oversees inventory controls, movement compliance, physical counts, SAP posting discipline, and inventory accuracy across SHG’s stores, commissary, and warehouses. The role ensures strong inventory discipline, minimizes variances and operational leakages, and supports accurate and timely inventory transactions and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
A. Inventory Control & SAP Compliance
How does this role enforce inventory transaction discipline and system integrity?
• Monitor inventory movement compliance across stores, commissary, and warehouse — covering
receiving, transfers, issuances, production postings, adjustments, and disposals.
• Ensure timely and accurate inventory postings in SAP — flagging delays, backlogs, and non-
compliant locations for corrective action.
• Track and resolve negative inventory balances and open production orders — escalating
systemic issues to the Cost and Inventory Control Head.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and compliance gaps — with proper root cause
documentation and preventive action tracking.
B. Physical Inventory Count Management
How does this role ensure the accuracy and integrity of physical inventory counts?
• Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of monthly and periodic physical inventory counts
across all SHG locations.
• Ensure implementation of blindcount procedures, dual-count controls, and proper count
documentation standards.
• Monitor count accuracy, completeness, and timeliness — identifying locations with recurring
issues and driving corrective action.
C. Inventory Reconciliation & Variance Monitoring
How does this role ensure book-to-physical inventory integrity?
• Monitor inventory variances and lead the reconciliation process between physical counts, system
records, and financial books.
• Investigate material discrepancies and identify root causes across receiving, storage, production,
and point-of-sale processes.
• Coordinate corrective actions with Operations and Finance teams — ensuring discrepancies are
resolved and controls strengthened.
D. Inventory Loss Prevention
How does this role minimize shrinkage and protect against inventory leakage?
• Monitor shrinkage, spoilage, wastage, and abnormal inventory movements across all locations —
analyzing trends by store, brand, and category.
• Identify inventory leakages, control gaps, and process weaknesses — recommending specific
corrective and preventive actions.
• Support fraud prevention and inventory governance initiatives in coordination with Internal Audit.
E. Warehouse, Commissary & Store Inventory Governance
How does this role enforce inventory handling standards across the network?
• Ensure compliance with SHG inventory policies and procedures across all locations.
• Monitor proper inventory handling, storage, and movement practices — including FIFO/FEFO
compliance.
• Conduct periodic site visits to assess inventory management practices and reinforce operational
discipline.
F. Process Improvement & Controls Enhancement
How does this role continuously strengthen the inventory control environment?
• Recommend process improvements to strengthen inventory controls and reduce manual
intervention.
• Support inventory-related automation and digitization initiatives — including barcode/scanning
tools, mobile count applications, and dashboard development.
• Assist in developing and updating inventory control SOPs, policies, and process documentation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Attainment:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations
Management, or a related field.
• CPA licensure is an advantage.
Related Work Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain,
audit, or finance operations.
• Experience in restaurant, F&B, commissary, retail, or food manufacturing industry preferred.
• Hands-on SAP ERP experience required.
• Experience handling multi-branch and high-volume inventory operations preferred.
Technical Competencies:
1. Inventory Control & Movement Monitoring: End-to-end inventory control across multi-location
operations — receiving, transfers, adjustments, production postings, and disposals.
2. Physical Inventory Count Management: Planning, executing, and validating physical counts
including blindcount procedures and cutoff management.
3. Inventory Reconciliation & Variance Analysis: Book-to-physical reconciliation, root cause
analysis, and corrective action tracking.
4. SAP Inventory Modules: Goods receipts, goods issues, transfer postings, production order management, and transaction monitoring.
5. Warehouse & Commissary Operations: Working knowledge of FIFO/FEFO standards, storage controls, and commissary production workflows.
6. Root Cause Analysis & Problem-Solving: Structured approach to investigating discrepancies and identifying systemic control failures.
7. Microsoft Excel & Reporting: Advanced Excel for data analysis, exception reporting, and variance tracking.
8. Process Improvement & Controls: SOP development, control design, and process documentation.
Behavioral Competencies:
9. Attention to Detail & Operational Discipline: Maintains rigorous standards in count execution, transaction monitoring, and compliance tracking.
10. Ownership & Accountability: Takes full ownership of inventory accuracy outcomes; proactively identifies and escalates issues.
11. Analytical & Investigative Mindset: Goes beyond surface explanations to find systemic root causes of inventory discrepancies.
12. Coordination & Communication: Builds effective working relationships with Operations, commissary, warehouse, IT, and Finance teams.
13. Process & Control Orientation: Thinks in terms of systems and controls rather than one-off fixes.
14. Leadership & Execution: Leads inventory control staff with clear expectations and accountability for standards.
15. Composure Under Pressure: Maintains accuracy and discipline during high-volume periods, month-end closes, and audit situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Primarily Head Office-based with regular on-site visits to stores, commissary, and warehouse for
counts and compliance checks.
• Extended working hours during month-end counts, closing periods, and audit cycles.
• Regular travel to store and commissary locations required, including unscheduled compliance
visits.
