About the role

Gente restaurant is seeking a talented and passionate Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team in Bali. This is a full-time position in which you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation. This role is integral to our missionto provideg memorable dining experiences and uphold Gente restaurant's reputation for excellence in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef and prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, plating standards and presentation guidelines

• Maintain a clean, organised and sanitised workstation at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations

• Assist with food preparation, including chopping, marinating and portioning ingredients

• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and inform management of requirements for restocking

• Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes

• Follow all food safety protocols and maintain proper temperature control for perishable items

• Support the head chef and senior kitchen staff

• Respond to feedback from management and continuously improve cooking skills and techniques

What we're looking for

• Proven 2 years of experience as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role within a restaurant or hospitality environment

• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and culinary techniques

• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and kitchen protocols

• Excellent knife skills and proficiency with kitchen equipment and tools

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict timing requirements during service

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to consistent quality and presentation

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

• Experience in international cuisine or fine dining is advantageous
