One of our client, Japanese Automotive Parts Manufacture is looking for Purchasing Assistant Manager to join their team. This position is looking for someone who has a strong background in the automotive manufacturing industry, particularly within Tier 1 automotive parts suppliers. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing procurement activities, supplier relationships, cost optimization, and supporting overall purchasing operations.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily purchasing and procurement activities to ensure a stable supply of materials and components.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms to achieve cost and quality targets.
Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
Support cost reduction projects and sourcing strategies.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.
Prepare purchasing reports, analyses, and management updates.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in purchasing/procurement operations within a Tier 1 automotive parts manufacturing company.
Minimum:
- 5 years of experience at Senior Supervisor level, or
-2 years of experience as an Assistant Manager.
Preferably 15 years or more of total working experience in Japanese manufacturing companies.
Strong negotiation, supplier management, and analytical skills.
Good understanding of purchasing processes, cost management, and supply chain operations.
Experience working within Japanese corporate culture and manufacturing environments.
Good leadership skill and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
