We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead operations at our fish processing plant in Simalungun, North Sumatra.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations:
Lead daily production operations to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
Develop and execute production plans to consistently achieve production targets, maximize yield, and ensure on-time customer deliveries.
Optimize manpower, equipment utilization, and production resources to maximize operational performance.
Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), labor productivity, manufacturing efficiency, and production costs.
Collaborate closely with PPIC, Procurement, Engineering, QA/QC, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
Food Safety & Quality
Ensure full compliance with food safety and quality management systems, including HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, BAP, and customer-specific requirements.
Maintain compliance with export regulations, certification, and regulatory audits.
Champion a strong food safety and quality culture across all production operations.
Continuous Improvement
Lead Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, increase yield, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing costs.
Utilize operational data and KPIs to drive informed decision-making and continuous performance improvement.
People Leadership
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop production supervisors and operational teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous learning.
Drive employee engagement, capability development, and succession planning within the production organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Fisheries, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a Production Manager or equivalent leadership role.
Experience in seafood or fish processing is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of frozen food manufacturing, food safety systems, and exportoriented production.
Proven experience managing large, labor-intensive manufacturing operations with a workforce of more than 1,000 employees is highly preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English is an advantage.
