Production Manager – Fish Processing Plant

We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead operations at our fish processing plant in Simalungun, North Sumatra.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations:

• Lead daily production operations to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

• Develop and execute production plans to consistently achieve production targets, maximize yield, and ensure on-time customer deliveries.

• Optimize manpower, equipment utilization, and production resources to maximize operational performance.

• Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), labor productivity, manufacturing efficiency, and production costs.

• Collaborate closely with PPIC, Procurement, Engineering, QA/QC, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless operations.

Food Safety & Quality

• Ensure full compliance with food safety and quality management systems, including HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, BAP, and customer-specific requirements.

• Maintain compliance with export regulations, certification, and regulatory audits.

• Champion a strong food safety and quality culture across all production operations.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, increase yield, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing costs.

• Utilize operational data and KPIs to drive informed decision-making and continuous performance improvement.

People Leadership

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop production supervisors and operational teams.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous learning.

• Drive employee engagement, capability development, and succession planning within the production organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Fisheries, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a Production Manager or equivalent leadership role.

• Experience in seafood or fish processing is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of frozen food manufacturing, food safety systems, and exportoriented production.

• Proven experience managing large, labor-intensive manufacturing operations with a workforce of more than 1,000 employees is highly preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English is an advantage.
