The opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Mathematics Private Tutor to join Digital Harmoni Cipta on a part-time basis in Surabaya, East Java. This is an excellent opportunity for educators who are passionate about mathematics and dedicated to helping tertiary-level students achieve their academic goals. As a Mathematics Private Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing personalised, one-on-one instruction tailored to individual student needs, helping learners develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and build confidence in their problem-solving abilities.

Key responsibilities

1. Deliver engaging and interactive private mathematics lessons to tertiary-level students, adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and paces

2. Develop comprehensive lesson plans and teaching materials that align with curriculum requirements and student learning objectives

3. Assess student progress through regular evaluations, quizzes and assignments to identify areas requiring additional support

4. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance, strengths and areas for improvement

5. Help students develop effective study techniques and problem-solving strategies for mathematics

6. Prepare students for examinations by conducting focused revision sessions and practising examination-style questions

7. Maintain detailed records of student attendance, progress and learning outcomes

8. Communicate regularly with students and their parents to ensure alignment on educational goals and expectations

What we're looking for

1. A recognised qualification in Mathematics or a related discipline, with post-secondary education credentials

2. Proven experience tutoring mathematics at tertiary level or equivalent educational experience

3. Strong command of mathematical concepts across various topic areas relevant to tertiary-level study

4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, accessible language

5. Patience, empathy and genuine commitment to supporting student learning and development

6. The ability to create a positive, motivating learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation

7. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple students and schedules efficiently

8. Flexibility and willingness to adapt teaching approaches based on individual student needs and feedback

9. Proficiency in using technology and educational tools to enhance learning experiences (preferred)
