About the role
We are seeking an Automatic Fare Collection System (AFC) Project Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, based in Central Jakarta. This is a strategic role that plays a crucial part in the design, implementation, and optimisation of our fare collection systems. As the AFC Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing technical projects related to our automatic fare collection infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of systems that directly impact passenger experience and revenue operations. Your work will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the technological backbone of our transit payment systems.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement automatic fare collection system solutions and upgrades to meet operational and business requirements
Conduct system requirements analysis and feasibility studies for AFC infrastructure projects
Oversee technical implementation and integration of fare collection hardware and software components
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, finance, and IT departments to ensure successful project delivery
Test and validate AFC systems to ensure reliability, security, and compliance with industry standards
Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external technology partners for system components and support
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues to minimise service disruptions
Document technical specifications, system configurations, and project documentation
Provide technical recommendations and best practices for system enhancements and future upgrades
Ensure compliance with security protocols and data protection requirements for fare collection systems
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum 3 years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or IT infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of automatic fare collection systems or related public transportation technology
Demonstrated experience with system integration and implementation projects
Proficiency in network protocols, database management, and system architecture
Experience with project management methodologies and tools
Knowledge of security standards and compliance requirements for payment systems
Experience working in public transportation or similar mission-critical environments is preferred
