IT TECHNICIAN

Functional description

·         Ensuring the availability and reliability of Computers, Printers, Scanners and other client facing IT Peripherals.

·         Troubleshoot issues on Computers, Printers, Scanners and other client facing IT Peripherals.

·         Area of responsibility is production- and office network.

·         Act as assistant to Senior Administrator and Chief Administrator when required (Project Related).

·         Work split is 90% on operations/helpdesk and 10% on projects.

Tasks and responsibilities

Operation

1.      Ensuring the availability and reliability of Computers, Printers, Scanners and other client facing IT Peripherals.

2.      Ensuring the availability of spare parts and license required for Computers.

3.      Troubleshooting issues of Computers, Printers, Scanners and other client facing IT Peripherals.

4.      Managing and executing routines required to ensure the availability and compliance of Computers, Printers, Scanners and other client facing IT Peripherals.

5.      Managing and executing security policy for Computers, Printers, Scanners and other client facing IT Peripherals including hardware control and software control.

Project and Development

1.      Assist in improvement and design of IT Infrastructure, includes upgrade and modifications of existing Infrastructure.

2.      Assist in projects, new or upgrade of IT Infrastructure.

3.      Assist in executing changes and modifications of IT Infrastructure.

Financial

1.      Keeping up the cost against budget.

2.      Continuous improvement on the best use of budget for more efficient IT operation and project execution.

Human Resource

1.      Mentoring the junior and colleagues for independent, resourceful and efficient job completion.

2.      Assisting the team in building Leadership and self-confidence.

Conditions of employment and interaction

·         This role requires mobility. Laptop and Mobile with data connectivity is required.

·         This role requires working out of office hours and outside the premises.

·         This role is on call roles. Any time required on the site, to be available.

·         Cooperation with project leaders of other internal departments within BT TPS

·         Working closely with colleagues within IT.

·         Maintain good attitude with the client.

Requirements

Education:

Minimum diploma degree in computational-related field.

Experience:

·         2-year equivalent experience in supporting IT operations/helpdesk.

·         1-year equivalent experience in delivering IT Infrastructure projects as members.

Knowledge:

·         Windows Operating System

·         Linux Operating Systems

·         Computers (Laptop and Desktops)

·         Printers, Copiers, Scanners.

·         Barcode scanners.

·         Backup System.

Personal attributes:

·         Self-motivated and self-learner.

·         Able to work under pressure.

·         Able to do planning and coordinate

Physical condition:

In good health condition with the ability to work long hours and withstand pressure.
