 Our breeding programmes are supported by specialised laboratories in Cell Biology, Genomics, Tissue Culture, Pollen, Plant and Soil Nutrition, Bunch and Oil Analysis, Agronomy, Crop Protection, and Seed Production, together with extensive nursery, seed garden, and field trial facilities across Indonesia.

 We are looking for a highly motivated Commercial Seed Experimental Officer to join our Seed Production team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our commercial seed production programme.

Your role

As a Commercial Seed Experimental Officer, you will support the design, execution and analysis of commercial oil palm seed production activities through data management, statistical analysis, seed processing evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with the Seed Production, Breeding and Biotechnology teams.

• Managing and analysing seed production data to support operational and experimental activities.

• Observing and evaluating seed processing operations to generate insights that support trials, experiments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of improved seed production methods.

• Preparing technical analyses, reports and recommendations based on experimental data and results.

• Driving continuous improvement through enhanced data systems, digitalisation, and improved seed production efficiency and effectiveness.

What you bring

1. A Bachelor's degree (S1) in Agriculture from a recognised university. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, although candidates with at least two years' experience in seed production are also welcome.

2. Good knowledge of seed production or the oil palm plantation industry.

3. Strong analytical, statistical and data management skills.

4. Good computer literacy and proficiency in data analysis.

5. Good written and spoken English.

6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

8. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

9. Willingness to be based at our Galang facility in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

Career development

This position is designed as a development role and provides a structured pathway towards becoming a Seed Production Staff member.

Expected career progression includes:

1. Short-term (1–2 years)

• Develop strong capability in seed production data analysis, trial evaluation, and operational support.

1. Mid-term (2–4 years)

• Take ownership of specific trial programmes and selected Seed Production operational activities.

1. Future opportunity

Progress to a Seed Production Staff position with responsibility for managing key Seed Production functions, including Field Operations, Seed Processing, Seed Quality, and Data Management.
