About the role
We are seeking an experienced Social Safeguards & AMDAL Specialist to drive our long-term conservation, restoration, and sustainable tourism initiatives. This pivotal role will oversee the Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) and AMDAL processes, ensuring seamless compliance, environmental integrity, and community alignment. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison, confidently navigating interactions across all stakeholder levels—from local communities and village leaders (Kepala Desa) to government ministries, institutional bodies, and international/local NGOs.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Process Management: Guide, manage, and implement the AMDAL (EIA) and FPIC processes from inception to completion, ensuring strict adherence to environmental and social safeguards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute comprehensive communication and stakeholder engagement strategies. Lead sensitive discussions regarding conservation, policy, and community impacts.
Community Relations: Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with local communities through transparent consultation, ensuring inclusive participation and sustainable economic alignment.
• Strategic Coordination: Facilitate collaboration and maintain alignment between government ministries, conservation stakeholders, NGOs, and internal teams.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications Required Experience:
Professional Background: 10–15 years of progressive experience in stakeholder engagement, environmental/forestry sustainability, conservation, or government relations.
Technical Expertise: Proven track record successfully managing FPIC and AMDAL processes.
Sector Knowledge: Direct experience working within national parks, forestry management,
biodiversity preservation, or conservation landscapes.
Market Familiarity: Strong working knowledge and experience with carbon trading mechanisms and regulatory frameworks.
Required Skills & Core Competencies:
Communication: Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English is required. Due to the global footprint of our company, it is important that you possess exceptional facilitation, mediation, and public speaking skills, with fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English required to effectively collaborate across our international teams and markets.
Adaptability: Equally comfortable engaging in remote field environments as well as high-level institutional and governmental settings.
Preferred Assets: Prior experience handling human-wildlife conflict engagement, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), and international NGO coordination.
