Mandarin Translator – Job Responsibilities

• Translate written documents between Mandarin Chinese and English (or the required target language) while preserving the original meaning, tone, and context.
• Interpret and accurately translate business correspondence, contracts, manuals, reports, presentations, and other company documents.
• Facilitate clear communication between Mandarin-speaking clients, partners, and internal teams.
• Provide real-time verbal interpretation during meetings, interviews, training sessions, and business negotiations when required.
• Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure linguistic accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
• Research and apply appropriate industry-specific terminology to ensure precise translations.
• Ensure translations are culturally appropriate and aligned with business etiquette and communication standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.
• Collaborate with departments such as Human Resources, Sales, Operations, and Management to support communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Utilize translation software and terminology databases to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Stay updated on language trends, cultural nuances, and professional translation practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and fluent English.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Experience in business, corporate, technical, or administrative translation is an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple translation tasks.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools is a plus.
