Maintenance Assistant – Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting preventive maintenance of company facilities, outlet facilities, equipment, machinery, and utilities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Perform minor repairs involving electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, and other building maintenance works in the head office, commissary, and company outlets.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot facility-related issues at the head office and all assigned outlets.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, outlet facilities, equipment, and common areas to identify maintenance requirements and safety hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and proper storage of maintenance tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
- Assist in the installation, assembly, relocation, and repair of office furniture, fixtures, kitchen equipment, and other operational assets.
- Replace defective lighting fixtures, switches, electrical outlets, faucets, locks, door hardware, ceiling tiles, and other facility components as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs of outlet equipment, fixtures, dining areas, kitchens, storage rooms, and support facilities.
- Coordinate with and assist contractors, suppliers, and service providers during repair, installation, renovation, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Monitor, inspect, and report the condition of building systems, including air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, water supply, drainage, exhaust, and fire protection systems in all company facilities and outlets.
- Ensure that all maintenance work complies with company policies, occupational health and safety standards, environmental regulations, and food safety requirements where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, and completed work.
- Request, monitor, and maintain adequate inventory of maintenance tools, equipment, spare parts, and consumable supplies.
- Assist during emergency situations such as power interruptions, plumbing leaks, equipment breakdowns, flooding, fire incidents, or other facility-related emergencies affecting company offices or outlets.
- Perform routine grounds maintenance, cleaning of outdoor areas, and minor landscaping, when required.
- Conduct regular visits to company outlets to assess facility conditions, identify repair requirements, and recommend necessary corrective actions.
- Report major maintenance concerns, equipment failures, and facility improvement recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and ensure continuous business operations across all company facilities and outlets.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications
- High school graduate, vocational graduate, or college level in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in building or facility maintenance is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, and general repair work.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and preventive maintenance practices.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and performing manual work.
- Honest, dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to work flexible schedules when necessary.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
