Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building facilities, equipment, and utility systems. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge and hands-on experience in air conditioning (AC) repair and preventive maintenance, along with general technical skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other building maintenance works. The role ensures that all equipment and facilities are safe, functional, and operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on air conditioning (AC) systems, including split-type, window-type, and centralized units.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment to minimize downtime.
• Install, service, clean, and recharge air conditioning units as required.
• Conduct routine inspections of building facilities and equipment.
• Perform basic electrical repairs, including lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuit troubleshooting.
• Carry out plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, unclogging drains, and maintaining water systems.
• Perform carpentry, painting, masonry, and minor civil works as needed.
• Maintain and repair generators, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repair work.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and occupational safety standards.
• Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment and facility improvements.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, vocational graduate, or Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) NC II/NC III certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in building maintenance or facility maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of AC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety procedures.
• Physically fit and willing to work on shifting schedules or respond to emergency maintenance when necessary.
