SCHOOL NURSE

About the role

SPM is seeking an experienced and compassionate School Nurse to join our team in South Jakarta, Jakarta at our Panglima Polim Campus. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in promoting health, wellbeing and safety within our school community. As School Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to students, staff and visitors, whilst also developing and Supporting healthy education that foster lifelong healthy behaviours. This position is central to our commitment to ensuring every member of our school community has access to quality health support and education.

Key responsibilities

1. Assess and manage students' acute and chronic health conditions, providing first aid, emergency care and appropriate referrals to healthcare providers

2. Maintain comprehensive and confidential health records for all students, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements

3. Provide individual and group health counselling to support students in making informed decisions about their health and wellbeing

4. Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate health promotion messages into the curriculum and support students with special health needs

5. Conduct regular health screening programmes including vision and hearing tests, immunisation checks and communicable disease surveillance

6. Develop and implement health policies and procedures in accordance with school regulations and local public health guidelines

7. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' health concerns and collaborate on care plans where necessary

8. Maintain a hygienic and safe health office environment, managing medical supplies and equipment appropriately

9. Participate in professional development activities and stay current with advancements in school health nursing practice

What we're looking for

1. A registered and licensed nurse with a current, valid nursing qualification recognised in Indonesia

2. Specialised training or certification in school health nursing, occupational health nursing or public health nursing

3. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in a school, educational or healthcare setting, preferably in a school health environment

4. Strong knowledge of child and adolescent health, including growth and development, common childhood illnesses and mental health concerns

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, families, staff and external healthcare providers

6. Proficiency in health assessment, first aid, emergency care and infection control practices

7. Ability to deliver engaging and age-appropriate health education to diverse student populations

8. Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, with attention to confidentiality and data protection

9. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment

10. Good Communication with English;

11. A genuine passion for promoting health and wellbeing in young people and fostering a culture of health within educational settings
