Accounting Manager
Job Summary
Our client is looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, ensure accuracy across accounting processes, and lead the accounting team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Core Responsibilities
1. Accounting Operations
- Daily Management: Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the absolute accuracy of financial data.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and all financial transactions.
- Controls & Compliance: Implement and enforce rigorous financial controls and compliance standards.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze revenue, expenses, and financial performance trends to identify variances.
- Risk Mitigation: Manage financial risks and proactively recommend mitigation measures.
- Period Closings: Lead and streamline month-end and year-end closing activities.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly financial reports.
- Strategic Insights: Provide actionable financial insights and data-driven recommendations to support management decisions.
- Budgeting: Support budget planning, forecasting, review, and finalization.
- Tax & Regulatory: Ensure timely and accurate submission of required reports to government agencies (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Advisory: Stay updated on regulatory and tax changes, advising management on potential impacts.
- Financial Health: Maintain the overall financial health, liquidity, and stability of the organization.
3. Leadership & Administration
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of 4 accounting staff members.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor team performance against KPIs and job expectations, providing regular feedback.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure strict compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Administration: Handle administrative responsibilities, including attendance tracking, leave approvals, and expense sign-offs.
- Collaboration: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across departments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.
- Certification: CPA license is a strong advantage but not strictly required.
- Experience: 5–7 years of progressive experience in a managerial accounting role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., Helix, Xero, or similar platforms).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel, Word, etc.).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical capacity, proven leadership capabilities, and strong communication skills.
