Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager Finance & Accounting is responsible for assisting the Finance & Accounting Manager in planning, organizing, controlling, and monitoring all financial and accounting activities of the company. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, effective cash flow management, budget control, and the implementation of sound internal controls to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Management
Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
Monitor company cash flow on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Ensure sufficient liquidity for operational activities.
Review and monitor company expenditures.
Support financial planning and budgeting processes.
Monitor budget utilization and identify variances.
Prepare financial analysis for management decision-making.
Assist in financial forecasting.
B. Accounting Management
Ensure all accounting transactions are accurately recorded.
Review journal entries and general ledger postings.
Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Ensure timely preparation of financial statements.
Monitor fixed asset recording and depreciation.
Ensure proper reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
Review bank reconciliations.
Maintain accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
C. Financial Reporting
Prepare Monthly Financial Statements.
Prepare Profit & Loss Statement.
Prepare Balance Sheet.
Prepare Cash Flow Statement.
Prepare Budget vs Actual Reports.
Prepare Financial Performance Reports.
Present financial reports to management.
Analyze financial performance trends.
D. Tax Compliance
Coordinate tax reporting activities.
Ensure timely tax payment.
Review VAT, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Income Tax calculations.
Coordinate tax audits when necessary.
Ensure compliance with prevailing tax regulations.
Liaise with tax consultants and authorities.
E. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Monitor Accounts Payable aging.
Monitor Accounts Receivable aging.
Ensure timely vendor payments.
Follow up overdue customer receivables.
Review payment requests.
Approve payment schedules within authority limits.
F. Cash & Treasury Management
Monitor bank balances.
Review cash position reports.
Supervise petty cash management.
Ensure proper cash control procedures.
Monitor incoming and outgoing payments.
Coordinate banking transactions.
G. Budget & Cost Control
Assist departments in budget preparation.
Monitor departmental budget realization.
Analyze cost efficiency.
Recommend cost-saving initiatives.
Identify unnecessary expenses.
Support profitability improvement initiatives.
H. Internal Control & Compliance
Ensure compliance with company SOPs.
Strengthen internal control systems.
Monitor financial risks.
Ensure proper document management.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Implement corrective actions from audit findings.
I. Team Leadership
Supervise finance and accounting staff.
Delegate work assignments.
Monitor team performance.
Conduct coaching and mentoring.
Identify staff development needs.
Evaluate employee performance.
Foster teamwork and collaboration.
J. System & Process Improvement
Improve finance processes.
Recommend automation initiatives.
Maintain ERP/Accounting System accuracy.
Develop reporting efficiency.
Improve internal workflows.
Support digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or Brevet A & B) is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance & Accounting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in FMCG, retail, distribution, or manufacturing industries is preferred.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, taxation, and audit coordination.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (PSAK/IFRS) and financial reporting.
Proficient in budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and internal controls.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Accurate, or equivalent).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
