Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Support engineering projects from design review, installation, commissioning, through startup activities.

• Support the scale-up of new products from R&D and pilot plant to commercial production through process simulation, evaluation, and optimization.

• Analyze process data to improve process efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability.

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot batch polymerization manufacturing processes.

• Collaborate with Production, QA, Maintenance, R&D, and external vendors to support project execution and process improvement initiatives.

• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, quality, and operational performance standards.

• Evaluate utility consumption and identify energy-saving opportunities to improve process efficiency and sustainability.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or other relevant engineering disciplines.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the chemical or manufacturing industry, preferably with hands-on experience in batch polymerization or chemical reaction processes.

• Strong understanding of batch reactor operation, process flow, PFD/P&ID, heat and mass balance, process control philosophy, and process troubleshooting using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).

• Good knowledge of polymerization reaction principles, process parameter control (temperature, pressure, agitation, reaction time, and dosing), and process optimization.

• Experience in commissioning, startup, process improvement, and process scale-up from laboratory/pilot plant to commercial production is an advantage.

• Familiar with Process Safety Management (PSM), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Management of Change (MoC), and the management of exothermic reaction risks.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret process data to improve product quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or process engineering software is an advantage.

• Good communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Understanding of process utility systems (steam, cooling water, chilled water, compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum, etc.) and their impact on reactor operation.

• Willing to travel for business assignments when required.

• Willing to be based in Merak, Banten.
