Operating Room Nurse

General Qualifications

1. Minimum education: Diploma (D3) in Nursing or Professional Nurse (Ners).

2. Possess an active STR (Registered Nurse License) and willing to process SIP.

3. Minimum 1–2 years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse is preferred.

4. Understand patient safety standards and operating room sterilization procedures.

5. Understand Infection Prevention and Control (IPC/PPI) principles.

6. Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team with doctors, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals.

7. Good communication skills, agile, disciplined, and responsible.

8. Willing to work in shifts and in dynamic surgical environments.

9. Good administrative and medical documentation skills.

10. Physically and mentally healthy.

Technical Qualifications

1. Understand patient care workflow in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages.

2. Able to prepare surgical equipment and ensure the completeness of surgical instruments.

3. Understand aseptic techniques and instrument sterilization standards.

4. Able to perform roles as:

   • Scrub Nurse

   • Circulating Nurse

5. Familiar with operating room medical equipment, such as:

   • Electrocautery

   • Suction machine

   • Patient monitor

   • Sterilizer

   • Dental surgical instruments (for dental clinics)

6. Understand medical waste and sharp object handling according to SOP.

7. Understand emergency response and Basic Life Support (BLS).

8. Able to conduct stock opname/inventory checking and monitoring of surgical instruments and materials.

9. Understand operating room checklist documentation and surgical reports.

10. Able to assist in both minor and major surgical procedures.
