QA Tester / System Integration Tester (SIT) – Banking Project

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Tester to support banking system testing initiatives, including System Integration Testing (SIT), defect management, and UAT support. The ideal candidate has experience in software testing within banking environments, strong analytical skills, and the ability to create comprehensive test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and Technical Specification Documents (TSD) to understand business requirements and system functionality.
• Create detailed test cases covering positive, negative, boundary value, and edge-case scenarios.
• Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases.
• Execute System Integration Testing (SIT) according to approved test scenarios.
• Prepare and manage test data required for testing activities.
• Document testing results comprehensively, including screenshots, logs, and supporting evidence.
• Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA.
• Provide complete defect information, including defect description, reproduction steps, severity, priority, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.
• Perform defect re-testing and regression testing after issue resolution.
• Participate actively in defect triage sessions and collaborate with development, business, and project teams.
• Report daily testing progress, issues, risks, and blockers to QA Lead.
• Update and improve test cases based on feedback from QA reviewers.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities by providing scenario clarification, test data support, and smoke testing during deployment or go-live activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical & Domain Knowledge
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, SIT, UAT, or Software Testing.
  • Experience in banking or financial services industry is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of banking operations, including savings, current accounts, loans, payments, and related banking products.
  • Understanding of business processes within assigned banking modules.
  • Basic knowledge of integration between banking systems and applications.
  • Understanding of system migration or merger impacts within banking environments is an advantage.
• Testing Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and testing lifecycle.
  • Experience creating detailed test cases and test scenarios.
  • Proficient in positive testing, negative testing, boundary value analysis, and edge-case testing.
  • Ability to prepare and manage testing data effectively.
  • Strong defect analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Tools & Soft Skills
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA or other defect management tools.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Willing to work within banking transformation, migration, or merger-related projects.
