AWS Cloud Engineer (Certified)

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.
2. Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
3. Automate operational tasks, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud resource provisioning.
4. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues.
5. Manage and optimize AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, and more.
6. Implement robust security controls, network configurations, and compliance standards (e.g., IAM policies, encryption, NACLs, security groups).
7. Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Development teams to support application deployment and reliability.
8. Conduct cost analyses and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
9. Ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to best practices for high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. AWS Certification (minimum: AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS SysOps Administrator)
3. 3–5+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services.
4. Strong knowledge of networking concepts: VPC, subnets, routing, DNS, firewalls, load balancers.
5. Proficient with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools.
6. Experience with Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
7. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
8. Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
9. Proficient with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
10. Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
