Position Summary

Enlight School is looking for a Learning Support Teacher that will provide individualized academic support to students with diverse learning needs, enabling them to achieve success within the general education classroom whenever possible. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and school leadership, the Learning Support Teacher develops and implements appropriate interventions, accommodations, and support strategies that promote student growth academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

As a member of a school community, the Learning Support Teacher models biblical values, demonstrates compassion and patience, and contributes to a caring, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support

• Identify students who may benefit from additional academic support through observations, assessments, and teacher referrals.

• Develop and implement individualized learning support plans based on each student's strengths and needs.

• Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to strengthen foundational academic skills.

• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.

• Support students in developing organization, study skills, executive functioning, and self-advocacy.

Collaboration

• Work closely with classroom teachers to recommend instructional strategies and reasonable accommodations.

• Participate in student support meetings and collaborate on intervention plans.

• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and recommended strategies.

• Coordinate with counselors, administrators, and external professionals when appropriate.

Assessment and Documentation

• Conduct informal academic assessments and analyze student performance data.

• Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress monitoring, and student support plans.

• Prepare reports for parents and school administration.

• Assist with developing and reviewing individualized education or learning support plans when applicable.

Professional Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.

• Stay current with research and best practices in learning support and inclusive education.

• Participate in professional development and school training.

• Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal or Academic Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

• Valid teaching certification or qualification appropriate to the position.

• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in an elementary or secondary school setting.
