About the role
The IT Infrastructure Support Staff will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and maintenance for our IT infrastructure systems. You will work directly with end-users and internal teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
Key responsibilities
Provide frontline technical support to end-users, addressing IT infrastructure service requests in a timely and professional manner
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues across the organisation
Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure systems, including servers, networks, storage, and security appliances
Document all support activities, resolutions, and technical issues in the ticketing system to maintain accurate records
Collaborate with other IT team members to implement infrastructure upgrades and improvements
Assist with the installation, configuration, and deployment of new IT infrastructure equipment and systems
Support the maintenance of IT service levels and contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is highly desirable
Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or vendor-specific certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, etc.) are advantageous
Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles, ideally with exposure to infrastructure support environments
Strong technical knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking concepts, and hardware troubleshooting
Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work methodically under pressure
Strong communication abilities to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
