Position Summary
The Head Chef leads the culinary team at Reload Sanctuary, overseeing all kitchen operations while developing and executing a health-focused, wellness-driven menu. This role combines culinary leadership, creativity, and a deep understanding of nutritious cooking aligned with our sanctuary values.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all kitchen operations and culinary staff
Design and develop healthy, balanced, and flavorful menus
Ensure all dishes reflect Reload Sanctuary’s wellness philosophy, including:
Whole and minimally processed ingredients
Plant-forward and clean-eating concepts
Accommodation of dietary needs (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
Oversee food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance standards
Manage food costs, inventory, and waste reduction
Train, mentor, and inspire the culinary team
Collaborate with management on guest experiences, events, and wellness programs
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up
Strong leadership and kitchen management skills
Extensive knowledge of healthy cooking techniques and nutrition-conscious cuisine
Passion for wellness, sustainability, and mindful food preparation
Ability to work efficiently in a retreat or hospitality environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in wellness retreats, resorts, health cafés, or lifestyle-focused restaurants
Background in nutrition, plant-based cuisine, or holistic food practices
Creative and forward-thinking culinary approach
