Position: Payroll Checker
Job Summary
The Payroll Checker is responsible for reviewing and verifying payroll computations to ensure the accuracy of employee salaries, deductions, overtime, incentives, commissions, and statutory contributions. This role ensures payroll is processed in compliance with company policies and applicable labor regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality of employee information.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify employee payroll before processing.
- Check attendance, timesheets, overtime, undertime, leave records, and holiday pay.
- Validate payroll computations, including basic salary, allowances, incentives, commissions, and deductions.
- Ensure accuracy of statutory deductions such as SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and withholding tax.
- Identify payroll discrepancies and coordinate with HR, supervisors, and Finance for necessary corrections.
- Verify new hires, resignations, salary adjustments, and employment status changes affecting payroll.
- Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management review.
- Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality of employee information.
- Assist in payroll audits and provide supporting payroll documents when required.
- Ensure payroll is processed within the prescribed schedule and complies with company policies and labor regulations.
- Recommend improvements to payroll procedures and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of payroll, HR, or accounting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Philippine payroll computation and labor standards.
- Familiarity with SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR, and other statutory requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
- Can work under pressure and meet strict payroll deadlines.
