About the role
Double Padel, a premier sports and lifestyle destination part of Kadena Hospitality Management, is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join our culinary team in South Jakarta. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to lead our kitchen operations and drive culinary excellence across our sports club and restaurant venue.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, kitchen management, and culinary innovation—bridging the gap between vibrant sports-lounge dining and high-quality casual cuisine. This role is pivotal to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our community, players, and guests, establishing Double Padel as a premier hospitality and lifestyle destination.
Key responsibilities
Lead, manage, and mentor kitchen staff (including CDP and Commis), fostering a positive, disciplined, and collaborative working environment.
Plan, design, and execute menus that showcase culinary creativity, including high-quality comfort food, healthy/sport-friendly options, and light bites.
Oversee and manage kitchen operations for daily dine-in, community gatherings, and special events/padel tournaments.
Manage kitchen budgets, strictly control food costs (COGS), and optimize procurement processes to minimize food waste without compromising quality.
Maintain inventory levels and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent availability of fresh, quality ingredients.
Create and maintain standardized recipes, portion controls, and cooking procedures to ensure absolute consistency across all dishes.
Ensure all food preparation and kitchen cleanliness comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HACCP protocols).
Monitor kitchen performance, implement continuous improvements, and adapt menus to evolving guest and athlete preferences.
Collaborate closely with Front-of-House (FOH) management and senior leadership to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Oversee the training and professional growth of the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of skill and efficiency.
What we're looking for
Minimum 5–7 years of professional culinary experience, with at least 2–3 years in a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef role within high-volume cafes, bistros, or sports hospitality venues.
Formal culinary training or equivalent professional qualification from a recognized institution is preferred.
Proven expertise in kitchen management, staff supervision, and operational leadership.
Strong financial acumen with a proven track record of managing food costs (COGS), budgeting, and inventory control.
Creative flair in menu development, with knowledge of contemporary food trends (including healthy diet/high-protein options).
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle high-volume orders during tournaments or peak weekend hours.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead the back-of-house team and coordinate with management.
Fluency in Indonesian is required; professional working proficiency in English is highly desirable.
