Estimator Job Description
Location : Bali
Job Summary
The Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, material quantities, labor requirements, subcontractor quotations, and project risks. The Estimator works closely with the design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Review architectural, structural, MEP, and interior drawings and specifications.
Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and BOQs.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Analyze project scope and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare tender submissions, proposals, and bid documents.
Develop project budgets and cash flow estimates.
Compare estimated costs with actual project costs and identify variances.
Update cost databases and pricing information regularly.
Coordinate with Procurement to verify current material prices.
Collaborate with Project Managers during project planning and execution.
Assess project risks and include appropriate contingencies.
Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings when required.
Support contract negotiations by providing cost analysis.
Ensure estimates comply with company standards and client requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
2–5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator (depending on seniority).
Strong understanding of construction methods and building materials.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Knowledge of local construction costs and market pricing.
Experience preparing BOQs and cost plans.
Technical Skills
Microsoft Excel (advanced)
AutoCAD (preferred)
Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX, or similar quantity take-off software (preferred)
Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 (advantage)
Construction budgeting and cost control
