Daily Worker Cook Helper

About the role

Locca Sea House is seeking a Daily Worker Cook Helper to join our dynamic kitchen team in Bali. This is a full-time position based in our beachfront restaurant, where you will work alongside our chefs to support the preparation and cooking of our diverse menu offerings. As a Cook Helper, you will play an essential role in maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our kitchen whilst assisting in food preparation, cooking and plating. This role is integral to delivering the exceptional dining experience our guests expect from us.

Key responsibilities

1. Assisting chefs with food preparation, including chopping, dicing, marinating and organising ingredients

2. Supporting the cooking process by monitoring dishes during preparation and ensuring proper cooking temperatures and times

3. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen, including cleaning work surfaces, equipment and utensils

4. Organising and restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed

5. Assisting with plating and presentation of dishes under chef supervision

6. Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment safely and effectively

7. Following all food safety and health regulations consistently

8. Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations

9. Responding to direction from senior kitchen staff and implementing feedback promptly

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, ideally as a Cook Helper or similar role

2. A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

3. Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment during full-time hours

4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

5. Reliability and a proactive attitude towards completing tasks

6. Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment

7. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends as required

8. A willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
