This position is responsible for R&D, technical support, quality analysis, and supplier coordination related to paperboard at the Indonesia Plant, ensuring that paperboard materials meet the performance, quality, production applicability, and regulatory requirements of aseptic packaging materials for liquid food. By establishing paperboard technical standards, conducting new paperboard validation, monitoring batch quality trends, and analyzing production and customer-side issues, this role supports stable production, continuous product optimization, and local supply chain development.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and optimizing paperboard technical specifications, inspection standards, and key performance indicators.
· Conduct technical evaluation and trend analysis of incoming paperboard quality, identify quality fluctuations and potential risks, and provide technical recommendations to Quality, Production, Procurement, and suppliers.
· Responsible for validation of new paperboard, new suppliers, and paperboard change projects, including test plan preparation, trial production follow-up, data analysis, risk assessment, and validation report issuance.
· Support analysis of paperboard-related issues during printing, creasing, lamination, slitting, and customer filling applications, including paper cracking, delamination, curling, abnormal stiffness, cutting knife wear, forming issues, registration deviation, and dusting.
· Participate in customer complaint and internal quality issue investigations, evaluate the impact of paperboard factors based on data and sample analysis, and provide root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and technical responses.
· Work closely with HQ R&D, Indonesia Plant Production, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and suppliers to promote paperboard localization, cost optimization, performance improvement, and supply stability.
· Prepare and maintain paperboard-related technical documents, including technical specifications, test reports, validation reports, risk assessments, supplier technical documents, and change records, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and traceability.
· Establish a paperboard quality database and key indicator trend analysis mechanism, regularly issue paperboard quality trend reports, and provide data support for supplier management, quality improvement, and product optimization.
· Monitor technical developments, regulatory requirements, and relevant standard updates in the paperboard industry, and support the company’s technical assessment in food safety, environmental, FSC/SNI, and other compliance requirements.
· Complete other tasks assigned by the supervisor related to paperboard materials, product development, product changes, and technical support.
· Working English proficiency to read technical manuals, equipment specifications, and engineering drawings/documents in English; communicate with overseas equipment suppliers/vendors for installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting support; and prepare technical reports.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or above in pulp and paper engineering, packaging engineering, polymer materials, materials science, chemical engineering, or related fields.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in paper manufacturing. Familiar with paperboard manufacturing processes, key paperboard performance indicators, and common test methods.
· Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis based on test data, production observations, and customer feedback.
· Good cross-functional and supplier communication skills, with the ability to drive issue closure among R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement, and suppliers.
· Proficient in English and able to use it as a working language
· Willing to be placed in Cikande (Serang area)
