Procurement Specialist

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy & Supply Chain Development

• Design and execute procurement strategy for coconut shell charcoal supply nationwide
• Build and expand a stable supplier network across major production regions (Sumatra, Sulawesi, Java, etc.)
• Develop sourcing models to ensure long-term supply security and price competitiveness
• Identify new sourcing areas and emerging suppliers in biomass supply chains

2. Supplier Management & Development

• Lead supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes
• Develop long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers, aggregators, and local processors
• Conduct regular supplier audits covering production capacity, quality control, and compliance
• Implement supplier grading systems and continuous improvement programs

3. Commercial Negotiation & Contract Management

• Negotiate pricing structures, volume agreements, and payment terms with suppliers
• Manage procurement contracts and ensure compliance with agreed terms
• Monitor market pricing trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly
• Optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality and delivery reliability

4. Quality & Specification Control

• Ensure supplier compliance with product specifications (moisture content, fixed carbon, ash content, size grading)
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to standardize incoming raw material quality
• Implement corrective actions for non-conforming supplier deliveries

5. Operations & Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely collection and shipment
• Optimize supply flow from rural sourcing points to processing or export hubs
• Reduce supply chain bottlenecks and improve delivery efficiency

6. Leadership & Market Intelligence

• Lead and mentor procurement/sourcing officers or field teams (if applicable)
• Monitor charcoal market dynamics, including demand trends and export pricing
• Provide strategic procurement insights to senior management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Agriculture, or related fields (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in procurement or commodity sourcing
• Strong background in charcoal, agriculture commodities, or raw material sourcing preferred
• Proven experience in managing supplier networks at regional or national scale
• Strong negotiation, commercial, and contract management skills
• Deep understanding of Indonesian supply chain ecosystems and rural sourcing networks
• Willingness to travel extensively to sourcing locations
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia; professional English proficiency required; Mandarin/Chinese preferred

Preferred Competencies

• Experience in export-oriented commodity procurement
• Familiarity with international buyer specifications for coconut shell charcoal / activated carbon feedstock
• Strong analytical skills for cost modeling and supplier performance evaluation
• Ability to operate in high-growth, fast-changing supply environments
• Strong integrity and field-based decision-making capability
