About Us:

Psychiatry UK is the UK’s leading provider of digital psychiatry services, working both privately and with the NHS to support children, teenagers and adults with expert, patient-centred care.

Join Our Growing Clinical Workforce

As part of our continued growth, Psychiatry UK is expanding its Children and Young People (CYP) Neurodevelopmental Service through Right to Choose in Autumn 2026. To support this exciting expansion, we are building a new workforce of experienced clinicians and are seeking multiple ADOS Assessors to join our growing multidisciplinary team on a self-employed contractor basis.

Building on our extensive experience in neurodevelopmental assessment and care, this service has been designed to deliver high-quality, safe and clinically robust assessments in line with national guidance and best practice standards.

As demand for timely ADHD and Autism assessments continues to increase, this expansion will help improve access to care for children, young people and their families across the UK.

We are inviting applications from suitably qualified clinicians who are interested in becoming part of a growing national network of professionals delivering high-quality autism assessments remotely. Whether you are looking to supplement your existing practice or increase your independent clinical workload, we offer the opportunity to join a well-established and supportive service as part of a wider workforce expansion programme.

As a self-employed ADOS Assessor (CYP Service) with Psychiatry UK, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality autism diagnostic assessments for children and young people using ADOS and related assessment tools where appropriate. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will contribute to diagnostic formulation, clinical decision-making, and comprehensive written reports, while applying your expertise to support the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centred assessment and care.

You'll have access to diverse referral sources, enabling you to work with a broad patient population. Our streamlined payment system ensures efficiency and ease in financial transactions. To maintain high standards of care, we provide robust quality assurance through feedback systems designed to enhance both patient satisfaction and practice quality. Safeguarding and well-being are priorities, with dedicated support available for related concerns. You'll also benefit from a secure online workspace, including pre-configured equipment to ensure seamless integration into our systems.

Scope of Services

  • Delivery of ADOS assessments for children and young people as part of a structured MDT diagnostic pathway

  • Assessment, formulation, and contribution to diagnostic decision-making

  • Completion of high-quality clinical reports and supporting documentation

  • Communication with children, young people, and families in a neurodiversity-affirming manner

  • Collaboration with MDT colleagues to ensure consistent diagnostic standards

  • Contribution to safe, effective, and timely diagnostic outcomes

  • Participation in clinical discussion or case review where appropriate within the service model

  • Use of digital systems to support remote-first service delivery and reporting

To succeed as a ADOS Assessor (CYP Service):

You will have demonstrable experience working within autism diagnostic pathways and/or multidisciplinary CAMHS or neurodevelopmental services, together with experience supporting children and young people in clinical settings. You have the ability to deliver services autonomously, manage your own workload, and operate as an independent practitioner.

Essential Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Relevant clinical qualification in Speech and Language Therapy or Clinical/Educational Psychology preferred (or another appropriately regulated profession with equivalent autism assessment competence), with demonstrable training and experience in autism assessment in children and young people in line with NICE autism guidelines

  • Current registration with an appropriate statutory regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC, SWE, UKCP, BACP or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification clinical experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience delivering ADOS assessments within a diagnostic setting

  • Experience working within autism diagnostic pathways or multidisciplinary CAMHS/neurodevelopmental services

  • Experience working with children and young people in a clinical setting

  • Demonstrable experience contributing to clinical assessment and diagnostic decision-making

  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)

  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote clinical service environment

  • Competence in producing clear and timely clinical reports

  • Confidence using digital clinical systems and remote working platforms

  • Ability to work on a self-employed contractor basis

  • Commitment to safe, ethical, and safeguarding-compliant clinical practice

If you are passionate about making a difference in mental health care and meet our requirements, we invite you to apply and be part of our innovative, online psychiatry service.
