About the role

Palm Trees Montessori School is seeking a Montessori Qualified Teacher for Kindergarten/Elementary to join our dedicated team in South Tangerang, Banten. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality Montessori education to our young learners. As a Montessori Qualified Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an enriching, child-centred learning environment that fosters independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Your work will be instrumental in shaping the foundational years of our students' educational journey and contributing to the school's mission of nurturing confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.

Key responsibilities

1. Create and maintain a prepared Montessori classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and self-directed learning

2. Implement the Montessori curriculum with fidelity, utilising authentic Montessori materials and pedagogical approaches

3. Observe and assess individual student development, progress, and learning needs to inform instructional planning and interventions

4. Provide personalised guidance and support to each child, respecting their individual pace and learning style

5. Facilitate mixed-age group learning experiences that promote collaboration, peer support, and social development

6. Conduct regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for development

7. Maintain detailed records of student observations, assessments, and developmental milestones

8. Collaborate with colleagues to plan integrated, interdisciplinary learning experiences across all curriculum areas

9. Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with Montessori best practices and early childhood education research

10. Support the school's commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful community that celebrates diversity and individual differences

What we're looking for

1. Valid Montessori Teacher Qualification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent recognised Montessori certification) for Kindergarten and/or Elementary level

2. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Montessori teacher in an authentic Montessori setting

3. Deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, principles, and pedagogical practices

4. Proficiency in English language (verbal and written) for classroom instruction and communication with staff and parents

5. Strong observational skills and ability to assess child development effectively

6. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to guide children through natural consequences and problem-solving

7. Demonstrated ability to create a warm, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating learning environment

8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues

9. Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice

10. Flexibility and adaptability in response to individual student needs

11. Preferred: Experience in a multicultural or international school setting

12. Preferred: Knowledge of additional languages such as Bahasa Indonesia or Mandarin
