As a Distribution Center Manager, you are responsible for monitoring operational performance to ensure the Distribution Center (DC) consistently achieves its operational targets and service objectives. You will lead, motivate, and support the DC team by fostering a collaborative work environment, promoting open communication, and driving high-performance standards.
Additionally, you will monitor productivity and efficiency metrics while ensuring optimal customer service levels and cost control. The role is accountable for establishing and maintaining effective, efficient, and productive warehouse operations, processes, and workflows to support overall business performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Handle customer complaints professionally and proactively, ensuring effective resolution and an excellent customer experience.
Oversee customer order fulfillment, stock distribution, and DC operations to drive productivity, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Oversee resource readiness, inventory availability, and workforce capability to ensure efficient order fulfillment and distribution operations.
Manage inventory accuracy, warehouse standards, and infrastructure while ensuring compliance, productivity, continuous improvement, and 5R+1S implementation.
Ensure compliant, cost-efficient transportation operations by optimizing fleet utilization, carrier performance, truck productivity, and on-time distribution.
Manage logistics budgets, control operational costs, and drive continuous process improvements to achieve efficiency, savings, and loss reduction.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and leverage performance data to enhance efficiency, productivity, cost effectiveness, and KPI achievement.
Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, certification, and succession planning to build a high-performing logistics workforce.
Champion workplace safety by ensuring OHS compliance, hazard management, incident prevention, and continuous improvement of safety practices.
Career Experience and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
An MBA or postgraduate qualification will be considered an advantage.
Experience & Skills
Minimum 5–6 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations, with strong hands-on operational exposure.
Proven experience in warehouse management, facility optimization, occupancy planning, and continuous operational improvement is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of retail and customer delivery operations, including planning, execution, and performance management.
Proficient in data analysis, reporting, and warehouse/logistics systems, with strong computer literacy.
Demonstrated people leadership, stakeholder management, and administrative capabilities.
Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive cost efficiencies.
Results-oriented, disciplined, proactive, and collaborative, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
