Japanese Interpreter (Contract)

Job Description Summary

Provide accurate and effective Japanese–Indonesian interpretation and translation support to ensure smooth communication between Japanese expatriates and local employees, especially in factory/operational areas.

Job Description

1. Provide daily interpretation (oral) between Japanese and Indonesian for meetings, briefings, and operational discussions.

2. Assist Japanese expatriates in communicating with local staff, particularly in factory/production areas.

3. Translate documents (written) such as SOPs, reports, emails, and technical instructions.

4. Support coordination between departments to ensure clear understanding of instructions and workflows.

5. Accompany Japanese staff during site visits, inspections, and operational activities.

6. Ensure all translations maintain accuracy, clarity, and confidentiality.

7. Assist in administrative tasks related to interpretation/translation when required.

8. Be willing to travel (mobile) across factory/operational sites as needed.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree preferably Japanese Literature or related field.

2. Proficient in Japanese (minimum JLPT N2) and Bahasa Indonesia.

3. Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Japanese Interpreter/Translator (fresh graduates with strong language skills are welcome).

4. Strong understanding of Japanese business culture and communication etiquette.

5. Good communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.

6. Detail-oriented with high accuracy in translation.

7. Willing to work on a 3-month contract basis.

8. Placement in BSD, willing to travel and work in factory/operational areas (mobile).

9. Able to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic work environments.
